External Torrent Tracker Problems

First of all I would like to say, „Great work!“ I dig this system even though i'm not that familiar with it yet. I've been playing around with it for a couple of days now and I have a couple of issues. If you wouldn't mind helping me out with them I would appreciate it much cuz I plan on using this engine and doing some design work on templates (which i'll share) I am php savvy but not torrent savvy (yet) meaning I understand from a programmers aspect how they work but not from a php side integration to cue and read the tracker/announce info and build a general consensus of seeds and leechers.

Problem 1: If I take a torrent that has many external trackers in it (lets say from another site) and upload it into my diferior install via the user account created „add download“ section. It strips every single tracker out of the torrent and adds the http://(mysite.com)/tracker/announce.php?torrent_pass={torrent_pass}(yes i'm using hashing so {torrent_pass}is replaced with a long hash string) as the only tracker in the list. Now i've tried a couple of things. My first thought was to take that string above and use BEncode Editor to add in the string to the torrent manually. Which will probably work. But no user that uses my site will want to go through all the trouble to upload an external torrent with external trackers. It takes too much trouble to set it all up. Is there a way to modify the bittorent.php (or whatever file is adding the diferior tracker to the torrent) so that it will just add the diferior tracker and use it as its primary while leaving the other trackers on the torrent intact? My second question would be if so how, and is there a way to grab all the seed and leech info from the other announce's and build a collective pool for the torrent so when a user looks at the torrent via the site it will have a calculated sum of all the seeds and leechers? I know it's possible cuz I see demonoid doin it. I just have no clue cuz as i said i'm not torrent vs. php savvy.

Problem 2: (bug report) If you dissable Blog entirely none of the theme's will allow you to view the root url of the site. It will give you an SQL entry error. Just thought you'ld want to know.

Problem 1
Open functions/downloads.php, try commenting out line 995. That should not remove tracker list and only overwrite main announce URL with the one you set-up diferior to work with. As for scraping (fancy word for retrieving peers), check functions/cron.php, 'task_scrape' function. You will have to modify it to scrape multiple URLs for every announce torrent has.

Problem 1: Thanks for the fast reply I've tried what you have suggested. I even commented out line 996 out of the upload_torrent public function to see if removing them both would invoke some sort of error. Neither worked. However, you did point me in the right direction. I believe Skizo's template is the culprit although I'm unable to verify this atm. When I commented out line 995 nothing different happened, it was still uploading that one diferior tracker to the torrent and it was still stripping the rest off of it. The same is true of having both lines 995 and 996 commented out. I've tried to follow skizo's template to see what is bypassing this upload_torrent routine. It will take me a while he's got calls running back and fourth from a javascript so it's kina like playing ping pong lol. One thing I have not tried yet is commenting out upload_torrent entirely to see if he really is bypassing it with his template. Guess I'll try that next. I'll post back any results I come across. Got any ideas?

Do not comment out line 996 or upload_torrent function, it will break torrent uploading functionality.

Bam that did it. I'm not 100% sure if 586 was the pure culprit or not, but yeah commenting them both out did it. Thank you very much. YAY! Now I can move on to scraping.
